They were gathered for the inaugural summit of The Juggernaut, a digital South Asian news startup that launched in 2019. The Juggernaut spokesperson told BI that "multiple employees have equity in the company," but BI was unable to identify any such employees. "Twenty years ago, you might've struggled to mention a South Asian actor that you've seen in a movie," he said. As of January, the site had about 10,500 subscribers, Sur told investors in an email viewed by BI. Some feel that the publication has strayed from its mission of delivering "untold, smart South Asian stories and news you won't find anywhere else."

The United States imported nearly $127.5 billion in goods from Vietnam in 2022, compared with $101.9 billion in 2021 and $79.6 billion in 2020, according to US government data. The United States needs a trusted partner for its supply of chips, and Vietnam can do just that, Osius said. But that compares favorably with a global growth forecast of 3%, and is noticeably faster many of the world’s major economies, such as the United States, China and the eurozone. Politically, Vietnam shares many similarities to China in that it is an authoritarian one-party state that tolerates little dissent. Vietnam is an obvious choice, because it’s a cheap alternative to manufacturing in China, said García-Herrero.

The company recorded revenue of 79.2 billion euros, or about $86.3 billion, last year, an increase of 23% from 2021 revenue. Some experts have long-hailed the company as "recession-proof," able to sustain itself through economic downturns and boasting products that uniquely appreciate over time. Though managed by LVMH, each maison has creative control over its own brand, with its own C-suite executives and mission. LVMH consistently collaborates with celebrities, fashion icons and influencers in order to stay relevant for the younger luxury crowd. Remaining relevant is key to longevity in luxury — and LVMH's strategy in building a brand that not only endures but continues to excel.

I was continuously berated with various comments.”A spokesperson for the UNC Board of Governors declined to comment on the lawsuit. Justin CookLeigh, Younge, Kapadia and Long painted a different picture from Brown’s of the professors in their open letter. Neither Leigh nor Younge, who were both at the university during Brown’s time there, reported having negative interactions with Brown, they said. “We acknowledge the fact that our experiences are unique to ourselves and not everybody shares those same experiences,” Younge added. In response to the letter on Brown's behalf, Brown’s attorney, Artur Davis, said: “While we respect the experiences of these individuals two things come to mind.
I had panic attacks every time I went to school.”Brown was accepted into the school’s five-year organizational behavioral program in March 2020 and dismissed from the program in July 2021, the lawsuit alleges. The lawsuit alleges that while Brown was admonished for requesting extensions, her white colleagues received “scheduling accommodations for reasons ranging from personal crises to writer’s block with no penalty or consequence.”The lawsuit alleges that Brown informed Melwani and Christian of the court hearings and the assaults. The lawsuit says Brown consistently got good grades, even as she battled with her advisers about her work, the lawsuit states. When Brown reported the disparity, the lawsuit alleges, Desai told her, “You are not as competent as we thought you were.” Desai did not immediately respond to the allegation. The lawsuit alleges that, fed up, Brown reported the professors’ “discriminatory pattern of conduct” to the school’s Equal Opportunity Compliance Office in June 2021.
